Kashgar over Mecca-
Mecca Started the game off 12-0, but then a few Kashgar threes quickly sealed that gap (One of two major leads mecca blew.) A 2 pt game at half time, but Mecca started the half stronger, and took an 8 pt lead. Tough defense and forced turnovers, allowed Kashgar to get back in it, taking a 54-51 lead with 5 mins left. The game went down to the wire, and Kashgar was up 61-59 with 30 secs to go. Mecca with the ball out of a time out, Fursan misses the chance to tie, Omar Abbassi pulls down the rebound, and was blocked by Brandon steward. Mecca fouls on the next play, but both FT's were missed. Mecca again had the chance to salvage their shots at a championship run, but Mustafa missed a lefty layup. Kashgar seals the game at the FT line, wins by 4.

Fez over Kabul-
Fez was up by 40+ at one point. Kabul showed no fight, and practically gave up 10 minutes in.. or at least their defense did. Kabuls scoring picked up in the second half, but they still allowed Fez to score 35 in that half. They allowed Mathew Florio to score 33 pts almost all off easy layups. It wont be easy for Fez vs Kashgar.

I never gave up!...but it was made very clear early on that Kabul had no chance against this Fez team. They are all about teamwork and distributing the ball and every one of them can shoot. Each player hit at least one 3 pointer except for Mohammad who decided to go for a walk after the first half...lol...I don't blame him...Burger King was selling Crispy Chicken sandwiches for only a buck. I only know that because Weiss had one for breakfast. Anyway, good luck to both teams as I'm sure next weeks game will be a lot more competitive than this outing. Kashgar is going to need their full squad for this one as Fez plays a pretty good zone.

Kudos to Kashgar. They toughed out a gutty win. Every time we made a run they came back with one and refused to quit. Their offensive execution was really solid, and they stayed patient even when they were down. Congratulations to them, and good luck to both teams next week.

Mecca/Kashgar - This was a game of runs. Mecca got off to an 11-0 lead and had a good sized lead for much of the 1st half. Kashgar started hitting its 3's and stretching out the 2-3 zone and completely erased the lead, gaining a 2pt lead at halftime. Mecca switched to man - and it was just solid ball by both teams on both end for the majority of the 2nd half. Biggest lead mighta been 7-8 by Mecca, Kashgae had a 10-0 run to go up 52-49, then it was basically a back and forth lead till the last minute. Kashgar got a 1-pt lead at the FT line to go up 60-59. Mecca had chances down 1 and 2 late but couldnt capitalize, never putting Kashgar in a spot in the final minute where they needed to make a play. Congrats to Kashgar - played a great game without Kerry.

Kabul/Fez - At the start of the game, 2 of Kabuls starters weren't at the gym - and this game got away from them pretty quickly. To beat teams like Fez and Kashgar, you gotta play a complete game for 40 minutes. And when 2 of your key guys arent there for the start - thats impossible to do. I think not having Muj in there was a big blow as well. I left the gym with 5 mins remaining in the 1st half, with Fez's hands on defense and their efficient offense - i left thinking the game was over even though Kabuls got some gamers.
