This season has felt like multiple mini seasons to this point but that doesn’t mean there hasn’t been a few players who have stood out and led the MVP race. With no more bye weeks in near sight let’s begin the countdown to the finale of the KP MVP Ladder.

1. Mohammad Abdelhadi, Kabul
Without argument this man has been one of the best players in this league since his first season almost 7 years ago. He’s averaging 23.5 points on the season on 50% shooting from the field. The man’s a presence on the court and is a force to be reckoned with. He finally has another dynamic player on his team in Ameed which might help him grab his 4th career championship come season end. Kabuls a force with him and bush league without.

2. Pete Brown, Mombasa
Might get some hate for ranking him at 2 but the man is a physical beast on the court and is one of those guys that teams have had a hard time stopping whenever he’s been on the court. He’s averaging a team high 20.8 points and 14.3 boards the season. Tack on his league leading 2.25 blocks per game and you get a better picture of how he gets it done on both ends of the court. Mombasa has a deep roster but Pete seems to be the right puzzle piece that fits it all together. If Pete plays come playoff time Mombasa can make it all the way.

3. Farhad Babury, Amman
Welcome back Farhad. The second I saw him register on a roster with a Leonard Lee I knew this team was going to be destined for greatness. Farhad’s another one of those MB legends that has been there since the beginning and has aged like fine wine. He’s averaging 22.2 points per game as well as 12.4 boards leading Amman to an early 5-2 record. He missed last game and the team saw their lowest point total of the season in a loss. Farhad and Leonard have been a great one two punch all season long, I would not want to play the, come playoff time.

4. Patrick Jaramillo, Kazan
The two time MVP is having another great season averaging 29.2 points per game on close to 50% from the field as well as 8.5 boards per game. He’s been at the top of the league the last few seasons and still is but his teams in trouble with some of these other PowerHouse names making a name for their separate teams. Never count Pat out though, he’s looking to make it back to the finals and earn his first title this season. It won’t be easy but having Pat on your teams always a giant plus.

5. Basit Ali Khan-Hunter, Timbuktu
This is the underdog pick here and several other players deserve to be recognized for their performances so far but we’ll go with Basit at number 5. He’s a strong candidate for rookie of the year averaging 24.6 points on 44% shooting from the field and 4.2 boards. The young gun has helped to lead Timbuktu to a 6-1 record to this point and has them in prime position to secure a first round bye if they continue this winning streak. Timbuktu has got a competitive group of guys and have quietly been making a name for themselves. Good things are happening in Timbuktu
