LAST WK: 1

There could only be one, and Sana'a delivered. I know people will criticize their win being that Zain and Idris had to sit this one out, but we can't forget Big Billy was missing in this one too. All credit to Sana'a, they've shown that so far, they're at the top of the pyramid, and to get to the top, it'll be one heck of a climb for everyone else. They've now proven to the league that they're complete on both sides of the floor. They have an offensive juggernaut offensively in our potential MVP, and they have 5 elite defensive players that can essentially match up with any set of players thrown at them. Oh, and wait, we also have Abdelhadi going for 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals, and 3 blocks, what can't the man do?

Jerusalem

LAST WK: 3

Another blowout victory, and another impressive showing. They started off very slow in this one, but the fountain of youth that is this Jerusalem squad became clearly evident as the game went on into the second half. Jerusalem seems to be the only team besides Sana'a that matches up against any 5 put against them, and low and behold, they're at #2. In this most recent game, they've proven scoring is also a forte of theirs, and good golly miss molly Hassan Chaabane with the yet another 2K stat line: 34 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 blocks, and 74% from the field. He said, "not too fast on that MVP decision, let me get the mic." Now with his teammates lighting it up themselves, shooting a combined 50% from the field and 52% from 3, this team has made their case to be here at #2, and I will do no disservice. A tough match-up next week vs Sana'a, and I think Hassan and co. have their sights

It's never an easy decision to move a team down after a loss in which their best player, and potentially the league's best shooter aren't present. Nonetheless, I presume they will be back, and things will work out just fine for this team. Amir C is proving he's still "that guy", and is really carving out a solid role on this team; he has become their #2. Salim also had a great game, dropping 13 points and 7 rebounds, a stat line that bodes very well for this team in the coming weeks. If he can keep that up, that's one more player defenses are really going to have to worry about. Samna did his thing grabbing 8 boards, and cleaning them up really well for a change haha. Seriously though, although they did lose, at the end of the day they were missing two key players, and that unluckily came on the worst week for that to happen. Though through that came opportunity, and boy was that opportun

Redemption win for Lagos. A great team effort led by Shahzaib and Singer. Shaz lit the court on fire shooting 10-12 from the field, and Singer led the point, dishing out 4 assists, and grabbing 6 rebounds. Moe Rayyan also got his, shooting at a great percentage, but only 6 attempts? No one particularly shot that much, which highlights the stellar team play from Lagos. They're doing what they can to find the best shots, hence the week high 50% from the field and 54% from the 3. Lagos faced a tough loss against Damascus in the week prior, and it seems they took their loss and learned from it. A team with such a great backcourt and a great big, who, by the way, had 14 rebounds, that are now picking the best shots every time up the floor is like the scariest comeback story known to these other 7 competing teams. It seems Lagos has found their mojo, and are now playing basketball at its essence, g

Now I know they just lost to what seemed to be the worst team in the league, and badly, but to me, this just seems like one of those extremely tough nights where it seems impossible to get going. They've been competitive in every game, no game won or lost by double digits, so the evidence leads to the conclusion that this one week was an outlier. There was nothing good to show from this game, just got to be this week's Lagos, accept it, learn from it, and come back swinging next week. This squad has too much talent and has proven too much to be placed any lower.

LAST WK: 6

No Ali, no problem... For Jerusalem, haha. All jokes aside, Kabul really did what they could to stay in it, and eventually, it got away from them in the second half. They brought along three guests who impacted the game in their own way, but none are any replacements for either Ali. Elias yet again has shown he can be a major part of this team, and Mo Dirty Mustafa continues to gather himself. Shafic has continued to test our patience with these passive results, but I'm sure that long-awaited game is right around the corner. Kabul is another case of, when this team is all present and healthy on the court, they're no pushover, so that's why they get the benefit of the doubt and stay atop the two 1-4 teams. Looks like we're headed for a great game vs Damascus next week, both teams are seemingly desperate for a revenge game.

Wooooowwwwwww. What an impressive performance :applause:. What a turn around, when it seemed all hope was lost, Dhaka went out and gave us this shocking beauty. It seems Mana and Towfeek are finally finding their chemistry, both finding easy buckets, and doing it at a high percentage. This was the expectation at the start of the season, we can potentially chalk that earlier disappointment up and label Dhaka "late-bloomers". What was particularly impressive though was that second-half defense, holding Damascus to just 9 points. Ameer Koyas' return definitely played a role in that effort. Sharief scored a pair of 3's, and it seems almost the entire team was clicking. Now bring Ed to the fold offensively, we can expect even better days for this team. I really do want to place this team higher up, but up until Tuesday they've experienced a tragic season, so I would like to see this type of perf

Kashgar
Kashgar

LAST WK: 7

I do not believe this team is an 0-5 team. Though since they are the only remaining winless team, they see to the bottom of the rankings. Since the acquisition of Big O, Kashgar has been playing competitively against even the best teams. I'd even say the only reason they lost by 13 this week was that they only had 5 guys, and were missing one of their best scorers in Malik Zubi, and a great rebounder in Muhannad Darwish. Nonetheless, they did shoot a poor percentage, so that proves there's still some chemistry to be gained amongst themselves. They have great players in Amir, Malik, Raza, Raied, and Big O, but they need to work together to find the best shots available. Too often are we seeing some of these guys trying to take an iso; work together and I think this team has the potential to be top contenders. I think this team is looking at a win in the near future.
