LAST WK: 1

Islamabad had this game circled on their calendar and they did not disappoint. A Hassan and Zain pick n’ roll is almost impossible to defend, Idris and Amir Abbassi help space out the court. Oh and that Kareem Ahmed guy, he showed some mercy to the rest of the league after winning POTW and scored 8 points. They have the most depth and sit at the top for now.

They just play pretty basketball man. Guard play is spectacular, forwards are grown men and you can’t help but love Weiss. In all seriousness, I don’t like it when they are good but holy smokes, they look awesome right now and could finish the season undefeated.

They were without the 2nd best Abbassi in this one and it hurt them. Lil O and Islam aren’t the same players without Biggz controlling the tempo of the game and it showed. Big game from Omar Mana as have come to expect nothing else. Not a loss I would concern myself with too much as they just happened to run into the best team in the league.

Ranking them as fourth seems severely unfair but the top 3 teams either are undefeated or an asterisk next to their loss. Big Moose reminding those that needed to be reminded why he’s one of the best players in the league. Jay Wigs and Wajdi had 21 and 16 respectively and Omar capped it off with 14 of his own. Anytime you have 4 dudes that can score 15 plus, any given night, good things will happen.

Its official, the Yousuf brothers are the latest brother duo looking to take over MB. Aadil with a game high 25 points on very solid efficiency while adding 6 boards 3 assists and 4 steals. Looks like the odds-on favorite for player of the week. Can’t forget about little bro Affan with the 10 and 9. Wow, we didn’t even have to mention Shahzaib, who had an off night but don’t get use to that, folks.

After being called out, Shafic has looked like his vintage self this past two weeks and the rest of the league should be worried. Coach Towfeek needs to draw up a press breaker of some sort because in the closing minutes his team was playing to not lose rather than closing out the game. Too many careless turnovers towards the end but they are 2-1 so not much I can fault them for.

Even at the ripe age of 55, Farhad is still cookin’. All jokes aside this game was not a contest past the 5-minute mark. Tom, Chris and Farhad took turns scoring the basketball and Allen added 11 for good measure. After a quick 0-2 start they got their first win, and it most certainly won’t be their last.

Their first real test of the season and can’t say I am surprised. MJ did his thing, and Ameer Koyas did everything you want in your forward. The shot 11.8% from 3 while their opponent hit nearly a third of their attempts. I ain’t no statistician but I like those odds more.

Far too talented to be sitting at 1-2 but they haven’t had the kindest of schedules. Knowing how phenomenal their guard play is, it would not surprise me if they win the remainder of their games. I would like to see a more aggressive version of Yo shah as that would probably take some of the load off Ali. Side note: Jean you are too big to not be averaging 15 and 12 my man.

Despite it being a friendly family reunion, the game did not come to the wire. Ian Felix who I am almost certain has no relation to the rest of the million Turmusayas on the court, had a game high 22. Splash had his best game of the season with an efficient 16 and they won the turnover battle, 5 to 12. This is the best this group has ever looked.

They lost to their village buddies but no harm no foul. This team is missing a legit go to scorer and I expected it to be Mo Amin or Jehad but it hasn’t quite worked out that way thus far.

When the average age of your team is 34, chances are you won’t hang with the young bucks. They need more balance and better play from the usual suspects.

It took double overtime, but they got their first win, and they played great collectively. Nader led the way with 25 points and was scoring at will. Ahmed Doumani added 18 of his own. Can you say win streak??

I am starting to believe their first game of the season was an anomaly. Joey Capone, who had a game high 37, is doing all he can out there but even he can’t play 1 on 5. Need more from the likes of Zubi and Moe Dirt.

Man was that game close for no reason, it’s like Palermo wanted to lose. Someone other than Omar Hussein must score the basketball. Nice to see Hosam Karkis score in double figures, but Omar Qasem or Khaled must be better for this team.

Another 20 piece for Gaballa but still winless but it’s coming I feel it.
