Giza vs Baghdad This game started very slow and it was 17-9 Giza with just a few minutes to go in the half. However, Baghdad stormed back to tie the game by halftime, capped by a corner 3 by Ahmed Eldekki. Second half, Giza came out strong and opened another 9 point lead, only to see Baghdad erase it with a huge 18-3 run comprised of fast-break layups and open 3s. Baghdad is a great team and as evidenced by history and this game especially, no lead is safe against them. Edited by user Monday, April 14, 2014 10:46:59 AM(UTC)

Lagos vs. Islamabad
Sluggish start for Lagos, but that all changed when captain/MVP favorite Weiss Froogh entered the game. Upset with his teammates for their inefficient play, Weiss took the game over with his shut down defense and lethal three point shooting. Islamabad stood no match, and Lagos was able to win in comfortable fashion. Lagos can't expect Weiss to bail them out every game, so they better right the ship soon.

Sarajevo vs. Alexandria:
This game was close throughout. With a few minutes left to go in the game Sarajevo began to pull away but Alexandria made a little run to tie the game and send it into overtime. Both teams hit big shots late in the game, Faraz and Sami really stepped it up and hit some clutch shots. Aymen, hit the game winning shot with .3 seconds left on the clock. This was a good qaulity game for a season opener, I'm sure both teams will build on this game and get better.

lol free afghan funny guy. our game was great. we started off a little slow. first time really playing on the same team together. christian was solid, hit a few close range shots, fernando and farhad being aggressive towards the rim drawing fouls, farhad walked off the court to make a multi-thousand dollar deal in the middle of the game, mo and ali omari played the way i wanted them to play. great role players and in ur face defense. ali made some crazy 360 layup which i still cant believe went in. mo had the biggest shots in the game with a 3 at the buzzer to close out the half and a 3 to start the second half. my 3 didn't go in, however, did hit the rim. so basically my confidence at an all time high. opponents were tough though, found ways to score and played tough in the paint. good balance with speed too. their early second half drought hurt them though.

Dhaka over Timbuktu No one told me Dhaka had some Afghans on the team. They are all under 6ft and they are all fast. Abdul is a major threat offensively. He was hitting 3s, finishing fast breaks, and showcasing his floaters. The other guys hit their open shots and battled hard for rebounds. They are probably the smallest team in the league, but they have a lot of fight in them. Timbuktu looked a little sloppy at times with forced shots and bad passes.
Sarajevo over Alexandria (OT) Faraz stepped up big time driving to the lane and finishing or getting to the line. Big game for him. Both teams looked a little rusty but battled hard and put on a show. Aymen with what would be the game winning shot from 15ft out in OT.
Bukhara over Kazan (Double OT) This was a great game. Jon Pride kept hitting 3s left and right. Myles and Shawn were getting putbacks left and right. But Afay and Moose always had an answer. Afay drove in all day and Moose was hitting shots whenever they needed a bucket. Jon made Moose jump and had a clear shot but fell just short. In double OT Bukhara had that extra energy to pull out the win.
