#3 Mecca vs #2 Medina Mecca started the game strong and played that way all the way to the end. Great ball movement and solid defense by Mecca helped build their lead. An extremely poor shooting night for Medina did not help.
#5 Kabul vs #1 Cordoba What a game! Cordoba took a 15 point lead into the half and built on that lead starting the second half strong. But Kabul wasn't going out like that. They played solid D and hit crucial shots to chip away at the lead. Faraz could not be stopped in the post and both Brandon's were grabbing boards. With under 2 minutes left in the game, Kabul came within 3 points and had multiple opportunities to take the lead but lost them all with bad plays and costly turnovers. A heavily contested step-back, deep 2 pointer by Delvon gave Cordoba the 5 point lead and win.

Congrats to Mecca - very discipline defense in their zone, and very active at the top. Beat us to loose balls all night. Pressed in the 2nd half, closest Medina got was within 8, 31-23.
Mecca/Fez has been the best team, should be a good high level rematch for the D1 championship. |
