WEEK | RECORD | RANK | COMMENTS |
---|---|---|---|
Week 6 | 5-1 | 1 | Where to start with Delhi... back to back 20+ point performances for Ghaos C, Hakeem M going 6/9 from 3, Ian C and that same Hakeem M collecting a combined 40 rebounds. All of that without their captain Ayan K. Great season overall from Delhi and besides a few close games and 1 blowout, they've essentially sat atop the league without much question. They've got a well-deserved round 1 bye, hopefully, they spend that extra week working together and preparing for playoffs. Seems like turnovers are the key for these guys, when the ball is protected, they light it up, so if they keep this momentum, they could be staring a championship game in the eyes, in the near future. |
Week 5 | 4-1 | 1 | Delhi gets the revenge win they wanted over Al-Andalus this week. Throw back to their first matchup, where they got battered, they’ve come a long way, and made some big adjustments. They butchered the zone all day long, and how about the career day from SG Ghaos C.. Ibrahim Jaaber’s leadership on the court is not to be overlooked, the offense starts with his facilitation. But the difference from week 1 to now is night and day. Turnovers are under control, and defense is locked in, Delhi is running like a well-oiled machine. A win next week will secure their playoff WK #1 bye. |
Week 4 | 3-1 | 1 | Delhi is rollin' baby. 4 scorers at 10+ and a total of 78 points this week is the second-highest score this season. Team captain Ayan Khan has really stepped up into a leadership role as the team's Point Guard and primary scorer, a few more big performances could have him in the race for MVP this year. Next week, they'll have their chance to get their only loss back against Al-Andalus. Delhi has done a great job forcing turnovers and capitalizing on defensive mismatches all season. They join 3 other teams in the race for the 1st seed. |
Week 3 | 2-1 | 4 | Rough day for Delhi. Starting off down by 10 cause of jersey violations is hard enough, but allowing 70+ more points after, is even worse. In their first week without IJ they were struggling. Lots of ill-advised shots and of course some good shots that just rimmed out. 2-0 was an impressive start and 2-1 doesn’t look too bad either. But the season is short, and with teams like Mecca turning it up, Delhi can’t afford to lose. Im sure they’ll return to their week 1-2 form of smart defense and raining 3s. But, they slide on this weeks power rankings. |
Week 2 | 2-0 | 2 | The new guys on the block find themselves moving up the charts this week. They just crept past Medina this week, but, a win is a win. They've gotta work on the efficiency stats, and the turnovers, especially early on. Seems like a war of attrition by these guys as they grind teams out with some good defense. They were able to force overtime, and at that point, they took advantage and came away with a hard-fought victory. |
Week 1 | 1-0 | 3 | Also missing some key players today, they pulled out a hard fought victory. Lotta new blood on this team, they struggled early with turnovers but eventually showed a lot of promise. Contributions from Ayan K, Maaz M and especially Ian C helped lead them to victory. However, they’ll need to prove themselves a little more before they climb the rankings. |
