Beit Jala

LAST WK: 1

I know they beat a weak Rafah team, but with the way Daishon has been playing lately, this is the team to beat. Especially with the pair of Mohamed Amin and Ronny. They have a chance to secure a one seed this week, and already will finish in the top four.

Nazareth

LAST WK: 4

They handled Jarrah easily behind a masterclass PG performance by Shafic. Amir Hassan has been shooting great, and Omar Mana looks like himself getting to the rim. They’ll also be playing for a top seed this.

No Mattias this week but they still got past Messiah. Sami Butt has been taking the reins and Omar Subhani’s been consistent as of late. Harris Jawad looks like a perfect scorer when he gets the ball.

Surviving a scare this week, they just had no answer for Elton. Musa’s been playing well but all love goes to BigMoe for the game winning put back. No Ehsan there, which is why their offense looked a big flat at times, but I’m sure they’ll be good.

Sheikh Jarrah

A tough loss, but missing Arjun doesn’t help whatsoever. Abdelrahman is unstoppable at times, and I understand why Nazareth couldn’t cover him.

Yazur

LAST WK: 11

The climbers over the last two weeks, Yazur seems to have figured out their identity. Alaa, Hicham, and Marawan have been stepping up in their roles. They’ll definitely be tested this next week against Bir Seb’a.

Isdud

This is still a great team, and were taken to the absolute limits to lose in OT. Anas has been playing like himself lately, and Mohamed Albana is elite as always. Ammar is missed—he spaces the floor good and Isdud’s offense is at a great point with him on the court.

LAST WK: 8

This game was not as close as the scoreboard says, but Akka didn’t play their game well and still got a dub. They were short handed, and I hope they’re prepared to play a well-oiled machine in Beit Jala.

Bir Seb'a

LAST WK: 10

Abdul Mutaleb looked unstoppable on the court this week, and so did Husan Zakir. They were also missing most of their team, and getting the win here must feel good. This is a team no one wants to face right now.

They made it close towards the end, but couldn’t rally behind Mahrooz having a nice day from beyond the arc. Salman Ilyas, Zia Siddiqui, and Ameer Koyas also had nice days, but they just needed a little more this game.

Full on applause for Elton Vojka, who was unstoppable. Areeha had no answers for him whatsoever, and not to mention Dasar scoring an insane buzzer beating shot to send the game to OT. This was a game that showed this teams lack of game sense, with bad turnovers towards the end of regulation. If they carry the momentum to next week, they’ll handle Qibya easily.

Forfeited. A season to forget.

Messiah is Messiah, and will score and rebound. Everyone else just needs to step up where they can.

I still don’t have a great reading on this team, but Omar Hussein looks like he’s the top dog. Other than that, I need to see something against Sheikh Jarrah for them to really move up.

Second straight forfeit win? Solid. Or get your money back. Just don’t come rusty this week.

They put up a decent fight, and I really like Ilyas Shabazz (I think? He has no jersey). He’s shifty and gets to the basket with some style.
