Muslim Basketball's back for another exciting season! Last year we saw amazing talent week by week as the top players in the division played their hearts out trying to lead their teams to glory. These players went the extra mile for their team and without them on the court their teams would fall in shambles. The effect they have on the court can be seen through both what does and does not show up on the stat sheets; it's the little things they do that help fuel the fire of their teams. Through their leadership and great play, week in and week out, they hope to do everything in their power to elevate their teams to the next level. These aren't any ordinary players, these are MVP caliber type of players. Welcome to this week's edition of the KP MVP Ladder.

1. Patrick Jaramillo, Kazan

Hate on him all you want but this man is undeniably the leading candidate for MVP on the season. Through this point in the season he’s averaging 34.5 points per game, over 11 points up from his MVP campaign last season, on just about 50% shooting from the field. He’s averaging 10.5 boards, 4.3 assists, and 4.17 steals (season leader to this point). These numbers are all improved from last season where he took his team to the finals and nearly won it all. Pat does not mess around and plays both sides of the ball very well. He has a great supporting cast but take Pat off of this team and they aren’t as dominant as they’ve been up to this point.

2. Mohammad Abdelhadi, Kabul

One of those Mount Rushmore MB players continues his MVP caliber season averaging 23.4 points on roughly 50% from the field, 16.4 boards, and 2.6 assists through 8 games this season. Simply put, Kabul is 2-6 at best at this point in the season without him in the lineup instead of the outstanding 7-1 record they currently hold. With two games left on the schedule against bottom tier teams looks for Mo Abdelhadi to only improve his stats and head into the playoffs averaging a very impressive stat line. Kabul’s in very good hands moving forward.

3. Pete Brown, Mombasa

There was some debate earlier on in the season as to whether or not this man was the best big man in the league but he quickly put any doubts to rest. Pete has been having himself a very impressive rookie season in this league averaging 14.6 points on 60% shooting from the field, 13.6 boards, and 3.1 assists through eight games He shoots an impressive 92.3% from the charity stripe as well so don’t try the hack a Pete trick because he’ll make your team pay. Mombasa looked very human against a top tier Suba team two weeks ago but boy did they bounce back this last week where Pete had himself a very nice meal. Mombasa is dangerous with this man holding down the fort. He’s had a double double in every game but two this season and has never had a single digit rebounding game. They’ve got two tough games left on their schedule it’ll be interesting to see how Pete leads this team moving forward and into the playoffs.

4. Aymen Abdelfatah, Suba

This choice was tough because Suba has got a bunch of guys on their team who are all great scorers to the rim and can create their own shots. Aymen, Sasa, and co have proven they have what it takes in this league and have some nice wins on their resume proving to the league that they mean serious business. They have a very intriguing matchup coming up against Dhaka whom have several stars of their own on their roster. It’s going to be very interesting watching how Aymen and co come out after an impressive win against Islamabad and try to take down yet another top tier team.

5. Zain Abdeen, Islamabad

This last spot is tough because there are many people worthy of being considered at the top of the ladder. Some notable names include Tim Brown, Luke Mullaney, and Anwar Ahmad. Islamabad has been a well oiled machine all season long thanks to some terrific leadership and shooting from Idris and Billal. Zain has been the ideal center for this system running the floor and crashing the boards when shots aren’t falling. Islamabad has looked human in a few of their close games this season but with Zain holding down the fort they’re in good hands and don’t need to think too much about their loss last week. Two very winnable games remain on their schedule and they should be looking at a 9-1 record heading into the playoffs with some great confidence moving forward.

Leave your feedback or suggestions below. Shout out to Jake for keeping the conversation going. Happy Eid to all those celebrating this coming week!
