Istanbul/Cordoba
Led by MB sensation Ahmad Hassan, Cordoba is hottt offensively .. if they keep up their tempo, they are sure to win .. BUT Ahmad may be out this Sunday .. it'll be a whole different game then

if Ahmad plays - Cordoba
without Ahmad - Istanbul
Jeddah/Cairo
Two tough games for both these teams in Round 1 .. rumor is Bron is done for Cairo .. that's a big defensive loss for Cairo .. can Isaiah and the rest of Jeddah use that to their advantage

Mecca/Jerusalem
Jerusalem has the speed but Mecca can win the half court battle .. I think this will be a close game .. it'll come down to team play

Mecca
Damascus/Baghdad
TQ - Ardell .. don't think Baghdad has answers for them .. FA will probably be resting his ankle for the semis/finals

Last time we played Istanbul we were missing Ahmad and 3 other players. We picked up some random guest who was sitting on the sidelines. That game turned into a huge blowout. Istanbul killed us....but that won't happen this time iA. We let them have layup after layup....It was sickening. I hope Ahmad comes iA but even if we have those other 3 players we were missing last time, I think we still have a chance.
I'm gonna have to go with Cairo. I heard Bron wasn't supposed to show up last week either and he did soooooooo. But Cairo has a decent team even without him.
I agree with the Mecca and Damascus picks.

It wasn't b/c of the other captains, we had already reserved the gym times months ago. So our only time slots were 1 and 2pm. |

lol actually both of you guys aren't completely correct, here is the response I received when requesting the game times to be moved to 3 and 4:
Walaikum assalaam Qasim,
Unfortunately, we have the gym reserved from 1 - 3 pm only, and the referees have already made arrangements to ref at these times. Other captains also have an issue with the 3 and 4 pm timeslot as well. We apologize for any inconvenience.

JazakAllah Khair, I think what they meant by that is that others captains want that time slot too. I know that I requested 3 or 4 pm games as well and wasnt granted it either because they had the gym times already down.

Good choice Bron - football always comes first.
Mecca, Damasucs, Cordoba and (does it really matter?) - lets go with.... Jeddah.
Can Jerusalem, Istanbul or Baghdad trade for me! It sucks losing in the first round. |

True that. You guys are just one piece away I think from really being a force. I think it just came down to matchups. Had you played Baghdad and Medina played Jerusalem who knows, first round might have played out different. |
