A lot of guys play with passion in both D1 and D2. Anthony has a good motor, but to make it sound like he is the only one in the league with that motor isn't fair at all.

Anthony, it wasn't necessarily that no one in D1 wanted you, at the time you registered teams were for the most part already set. And in-season transactions after week 3 are tricky, as only 2 designated players on a team can be replaced (due to injury or other circumstances prohibiting them for participating) - the only other way in after week 3 is if a roster falls below 7.

There may not be 50 D1 players better than him, but D1 is very competitive and has grown more and more competitive every season. He wouldnt have to get trippled teamed as a lot of the perimeter defenders are better. The drives might not be there as easily either as the interior defense play is much more physical as the bodies are bigger. D1 is a different beast, Anthony will def be a good player, but its not a cake walk.

And it wasnt a cake walk in D2 anyway, he put up a lot of points and good stats, but he had to work hard for those. I was impressed with the level of play I saw in the D2 playoffs. Teams really came together, and made some serious runs. It looked like Timbuktu and Kazan were a shoe-in for the championship game, but both teams got a very good fight in the semis. It was definitely fun to watch.

I have a hard time understanding all the back and forth. It was a great season with some great finishes. You guys all played hard. Everyone should be prepping for Springball '12, being played at the PAL in Parsipany.

Well I'm glad someone gives me some type of credit.. And I guess played in d1 for 2 games and had over 25 points each game with ease.. So who ever really thinks they can contame me is really the stupid one.. And far as the celebration with the champagne it was actually apple cider so it had no alcohol in it ..also I proved once again defying all odds and having the WHOLE league against me because of my skill level.. Maybe if I was muslim I would be accepted but that's neither here or there.. I came each week to play basketball , compete and win the championship and that's exactly what I did and it somelike hass wants to give me credit then why make fun of him?? That just shows the ignorance u have for someone complenting a player who does good in a game..and for the past 3 users who commented saying that I played d2 and I'm not good and there's over 50 d1 players and blah blah blah. I don't see your names in any stat leaders or do I hear your name ring any bells...hopefully everyone gets better before the next season. Cause I hear a lot of people talking crap about me but no comfronts me?? No one proves me wrong on the court...no body wanted to put me on a d1 squad.. So who's fault is that?? Mine?? I don't think so

First time im posting here in a year, only game I watched for this season was the D2 championship yesterday and Anthony I dont know why you think everyone hates on you. I was a spectator sitting with others and people were amazed by the things you were doing and giving you props throughout the game. It may seem like people like to call you out at times, but when you are the center of attention you will get talked about. Muslim or not the league gives respect where respect needs to be given, you put on a show yesterday and all season. You are def a great player and the Championship you won yesterday shows it. Ppl may have jumped to conclusions about your celebration and that was wrong on their part, thanks for respecting the league and bringing apple cider instead. No reason to let what some may say about you make it seem their is favoritism or lack of respect just cause you are not muslim. Congrats on the Championship, it was well deserved!

u must of not watched any of my games cause i take it to the whole very very aggressively .. and i know the leaders who run this league could vouch for that as u read in the forums on the stuff i do... and i want to see u get placed on the same team i had and be able to do what i do i doubt that seriously.. and anytime u wanna play big boy we could..make sure u do some push ups and eat some sandwiches before u step up to the plate..i don't want to hear another word out of u unless its about playing basketball..

Ok gentlemen, I think we've all had a very eloquent debate back and forth.

The forum guidelines are clearly written and have been pretty lenient, but any incendiary and hateful comments will be promptly deleted.

Happy posting. Blunt

asalamu alaykum,

just to bring everybody's attention, today there was an incident one of the player non muslim is celebreting by drinking alcohol in the gym right after winning the game on the side of the court. this is a disrespect to the muslim bball league, the gym is being rented and there people watching such as kids and parents. we should make sure and address to all the players that this act should never happen again.

It was apple cider tough guy. Make sure u know something before u open your mouth...

After the game U came to us and offerred us and u said "u want some champagne guys". This wat u clearly said and u said in front my whole teammates. And when u shook our hand it smelled like alcohol . Ask my teammates. If it wasn't alcohol then fine but u made it seem as if it was alcohol. Let me give u an example and this is not real, If were to rob a store with a fake gun and the ppl at store don't knw it's a fake gun but I made it seem like it was real gun. U get my point. U have to understand tat u made it seem as if it was alcohol or else I would have never brought this issue. It was pleasure playing against u and ur teammates and congratulations.

As Muslims we shouldn’t be so short-tempered and harsh with those who are outside of our faith. I don’t think Anthony’s a bad guy. He’s just misguided and made a poor decision. I’m sure he understand now that he was in the wrong and we can all move forward. Congrats on the win Ant.

one thing we need to improve as a human being, doesnt matter what religion or race, we need to help each other no matter wat the situation is and if anyone makes mistake just forgive that persons and move on. its my fault for making anthony look bad as person. i sincerely apologize to him. As a muslim we need to start getting our act together and be good muslim on and off the court, starting with myself.
