lagos vs timbuktu

timbuktu hit alot of threes in the first half.. mustafa was face guarded the whole court and was unable to get good looks at the basket but it was his big man rajah and anwar k stepping it up taken a 7 point lead and half time..
2nd half lagos goes on a 11-0 run with some three pointer by anthony and danny to take the lead. timbuktu faught back hitting nba range three pointers from anwar and mustafa but was not enough for anthony 21 points 9 assists and big mike with 28 points. lagos wins.. timbuktu really played a good game shoutout to them..

Islamabad vs. Istanbul

Both teams started off strong on both ends of the floor. It was a 1 point game at half time. Istanbul was playing with five guys, but pushed the tempo in the 2nd half with big buckets coming from the Fayoumi brothers and Hassan Hamdan. Himey also had some great defensive plays and was big on the boards. 2nd half was a high scoring affair. Islam and Fursan Abbassi made some big plays down the stretch but Istanbul created a comfortable enough lead to give them the W. Great game overall!

Jerusalem/Damascus

Jerusalem played with only 5 guys for the second straight eye. Edriss did not play but coached from the sideline. Damascus took a slight early lead and kept it going until right before the half, when Jerusalem came out a timeout and started hitting some shots. Aymen, Ali, and Yahya all had double digit rebounds for Jerusalem. 1-25 from 3pt land hurt Damascus.

This was a good game from begining to the end. Timbuktu ended the half with what I believe was an 11 or 12 point lead, and personally I thought that they were going to run the score up in the second half. Lagos started the second half with a sense of urgency and they quickly (I think it was like in 2-3 minutes) turned the 10 point deficit to a lead. This come back was led by big threes from Anthony (who was off in the first half but stepped up in the second), strong finishes from both Mike's, and stellar passing from Reza. I don't want to take credit away from Lagos, because they played really well, but Timbuktu did miss some shots that they would normally hit - I want to see a rematch!

I know I said I had Lagos at number 2, but on all cylinders they will be hard to beat. I still have Timbuktu as number three, but if Mustafa and Co are hitting their shots, don't be suprised if they sneak their way into the finals.

You have to give Lagos's defensive pressure credit for many of those misses. Well, except for the missed free throws. They get no credit for those. Lagos is a tough team. We look forward to the chance to play them again in the playoffs, if things break that way.

QB,

You're absolutely right. Lagos is athletic, long, and play with intensity so kudos to them. It all starts with their captain Mr. Weiss F and trickles down to the rest of the team. I have no doubt Timbuktu will make adjustments and come back stronger in a rematch - keep an eye out for this game!

I witnessed it live, I was actually very impressed by your play. You lit it up in back to back games and led your team to a championship.

Now, you all heard it here first, from Anthony, that he can't be stopped. So, who will be the first to shut down Anthony? Any buyers? How about 5-2 Tripoli next week?
