WEEK | RECORD | RANK | COMMENTS |
---|---|---|---|
Week 7 | 6-1 | 2 | They played a 5v4. I don’t have much to say, but Sean had 30 points on 9-12 shooting from 3. He’s heating up just in time for playoffs, and they look like they can win with how their roster is built. |
Week 6 | 5-1 | 2 | This was a win that felt like a loss. They held a double digit lead for a long time, but blew it, letting the game go to OT. Mohamed Albana (19pts, 13reb) and Aymen (13pts. 11reb) led the way for this team while Sean had 19 for himself. This is still a great team in my opinion, but this close game humanizes them a bit. |
Week 5 | 4-1 | 4 | They came in Saturday morning ready to handle business, going up 19 to end the first half. Ammar is really stepping up, having his second straight double-double (17pts, 10rbs) after a sluggish start to the season. This was more-so an overall team win, with everyone pitching in after they went up by a lot early on. |
Week 4 | 3-1 | 3 | Like I said last week, I think they’re really finding their identity as a squad. The team had THREE players having double-digit points and rebounds. Aymen, Mohamed, and Ammar really carried the team this week, and I can see them continuing their hot streak. |
Week 3 | 2-1 | 4 | Getting a win against one of the most talked about teams going into the season must feel good. Sean was definitely the missing piece they needed, having 21 points and going 7-14 from 3, not to mention the daggers at the end. Do not leave this man open, whatsoever. Aymen helped with his 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Omar (12pts) and Ammar (11pts, 8rbs) left their marks on the game. I think they’re slowly learning who they are as a team, which was a worry going into the season. |
Week 2 | 1-1 | 5 | A nice game from Anas who had 11 points and Mohamed Albana who had 17 points and 8 rebounds. Aymen had an uncharacteristic off-day, while Ammar continues to struggle to start the season, but helped by getting 9 boards. What makes this team great is that other players step up when their teammates struggle. That and contributing where they can. I still consider them one of the best teams, and I’m confident they’ll find their rhythm. Also, am I reading this right? 28 free throws as a team? Insanity. |
Week 1 | 0-1 | 7 | A tough loss, but great signs from Aymen coming back from his injury, almost having a double-double (10pts, 9rbs) in a tight game. Ammar also contributed with 4 blocks. You have to wonder when this team will clean up their shot selection. Two starters going a combined 8-29 from the field won’t help anyone. You can tell this team has a real hole in their shooting without Sean, going 17% from three won’t be winning you any games. |
Preseason | 0-0 | 6 | Anas teaming up with Sean, Ammar, and Mohamed was not something on my Winter season bingo card. This team looks pretty well-rounded, but I’m more interested to see how a group of ball dominant players will co-exist. |
