New Jersey (North): Areeha (D2)

WEEK | RECORD | RANK | COMMENTS |
---|---|---|---|
Week 8 | 5-3 | 8 | A great team win against a tougher opponent, back in the win column. A sleeper squad moving into the playoffs in my opinion as they’ve got size, scoring, and IQ to pair with each other, and a team of pretty selfless hoopers doing their thing. Splash with the game winner in overtime, and Nick with 5 3s, can’t ask for much more after a W. |
Week 7 | 4-3 | 9 | Losers of 3 in a row and trending in the wrong direction come playoff time, granted, they were down a very important piece in Sej today and they need Raj to start knocking the rust off, however, I wanna watch them play with a full team, it seems like every week they only have 5 players. Nick with a very efficient game this week also. (Finally) |
Week 6 | 4-2 | 6 | Loss against a really good team this week, and losers of 2 in a row, however, they were down two starters this week so I can’t put them at too much fault. Yet to see who captain Fursan decides to pickup for Muj, and idk if we’ll see them add someone for the rest of the season. However, still a really good team defensively, I just think they need a little more juice offensively to continue to win games. |
Week 5 | 4-1 | 5 | I can’t drop Areeha too much this week, because they lost to the best team in the league thus far, and they were also down their defensive anchor in Big O, and have been playing without a 2nd round player as well for some time. I didn’t see much of this game but, 18 points in a half is unacceptable if you wanna beat the number 1 seed in a game. Nick continued to shine with a great game on offense. Looking to see the squad rebound next week potentially, hopefully with some extra players on deck. |
Week 4 | 4-0 | 3 | Another good game from a team playing really fluid team ball, however, another game they win beating a team that’s without their star player. They’re 4-0 for a reason, everyone is contributing whether it’s on the boards, offensively or defensively. This team is going to win games due to size and defense. They’re number one defensively due to the likes of Big O anchoring the paint, and pesky guards on the perimeter. Big shoutout to Nick finally having an efficient game!! |
Week 3 | 3-0 | 3 | Took care of business against a struggling squad. Still waiting to see them win against a full-strength elite team, but Nick and crew are passing every test so far, as you can only really play who’s in front of you. Areeha is looking solid and are getting contributions from everyone on the team, which is making them look tough to beat. |
Week 2 | 2-0 | 2 | Two convincing wins in a row. Nick showed improvement with better decision-making, and the team’s chemistry continues to shine. Even against weakened opponents, they’re passing every test. Also, winning this game without Mujtaba has me even more interested to see where they go from here. |
Week 1 | 1-0 | 5 | Great team performance as well, looked very cohesive as a unit. I do believe that big man Nick can be more efficient with the rock in his hands, however, still a really solid game overall. I will say I need to see them do it against a team at full strength due to the opposition missing their number one option in Ali. |
