Week 7 4-3 10

Easily the most confusing and may I say disappointing team from this season? Yes, I know, I get it, Luis couldn’t make it every week, but y’all have Kenny, Mingo and Nick! Kenny J started the season off hot and we saw Mingo return to form. The two vets averaged 18 and 17, respectively, and add in Nick’s 11 and that’s 46 points from them alone. If Luis does show up for the playoffs, they are contenders, but minus the point forward, dare I say, pretenders? Recap: At 17ppg, Mingo had his best scoring season since 2015 and was efficient in doing so. Look for him to take control of the game against Tripoli in Round 1.

Week 6 3-3 10

Won via forfeit and to be honest, based on their play this season, the forfeit was a blessing. Not the same squad that we have grown accustomed to. Perhaps they can remind us how potent they can be this week.

Week 5 2-3 10

No Luis again, but no one is going to feel bad for you about not having your full squad, just ask Baghdad. Crazy to think the same squad was the #1 seed just last season.

Week 4 2-2 10

Should not have been a close game against Delhi. They are too big and too talented. Nice to see Nick get in rhythm and Luis return after a two-game hiatus. If last season’s ROTY plays like that for the remainder of the season, Beirut is a tough out.

Week 3 1-2 10

Vintage Mino was on display, but it wasn’t enough. Kenny J has been doing his thing this season, yet this team is 1-2. Bright side, they play Delhi this week. And my prediction is Nick goes for 25 + and they win by 30.

Week 2 1-1 5

Overall, not the greatest shooting performance collectively and with Luis not in attendance, that may have been why. With Luis operating as the point forward, their shooters space the court, Mingo can work the perimeter and post, while Kenny can attack the basket with little to no help defense standing in his way. Game of the week against former teammates and family in Cordoba.

Week 1 1-0 3

After a devasting first round exit, Beirut did not play kind to their week 1 opponent. Kenny J balled out with 31 points on 63% shooting. Part of their success last season was due to newcomer Luis Torres having a great season. I expect them to remain near the top of the standings all season.
